Reference Series 4: Transitional Conditions

Scope

Series 4 was issued during Meridian’s early expansion into transitional solutions. It remains cited because the distinction cannot be resolved by duration alone.

Method

A transitional condition is introduced for an interim purpose and carries a review interval. An ordinary condition may emerge through repeated use before formal acceptance is recorded. The two conditions can occupy the same physical position while remaining different in governance.

Transitional Solutions uses PCP return-position language when a provisional placement begins to acquire ordinary status. MCS-01 retains the distinction in current continuity practice.

Revision history

Series 4 has not been revised. Its status is retained original. A 2016 annotation added cross-reference language for MCS-01 and the 2024 Meridian One framework without altering the 1991 text.
