Scope
MCS-01 provides the common definitions used when separate divisions review one operating environment. It does not replace specialist methods. It defines the conditions under which those methods can be handed from one discipline to another.
Method
The standard organizes continuity around presence, access, sequence and return. SCR-6 extends this language through position, approach, sequence, atmosphere, persistence and response. Meridian One is the current programme framework through which MCS-01 is applied.

Revision history
MCS-01 was not fully formed at its first publication. It is a maintained framework assembled from methods that proved useful beyond their originating division.
